After what patients go through to get to a place where there is no evidence of disease (NED), we are all not just relieved to be there, but proud of our endurance. We got past the toll that it took physically and emotionally. Wearing your survivorship button is a badge of honor. The first year of treatments is brutal and getting there seemed like it was never going to happen. Most recurrences occur in the first 2 years, so getting past that is another landmark.  At year five, cancer professionals agree that patients are fully out of the woods. At year ten cancer is plainly in your rearview mirror, you are a long-term survivor.  Only five dollars to wear the badge. You deserve it!
